Living in Contrast

ree

Duality has been a concept I have not fully understood and life has been teaching me that lesson thoroughly as of recent. I have found myself being present and grateful in the moment while going through some of my greatest challenges.

Historically, I would disassociate from the chaos and process it at a later date when I felt that I had the bandwidth. My mental and physical health are telling me that is no longer an option. I am learning to be present through the chaos and deal with it head on. I have been learning the balance between experiencing the emotion while still maintaining my sanity - it has been a struggle.

I have had to invest and build relationships that allow me the comfort to express my emotions and that has also brought an additional set of challenges. I quickly realized that I do not trust often and I am not great at communicating my emotional needs. I find myself ashamed for having emotions that I am not comfortable with in front of others. At the end of the day we are all human doing life for the first time - how can you be ashamed of that?

I have come to the conclusion that it is okay to be thankful and celebrate the wins while simultaneously grieving your losses and hardships. It is a necessity and it is also okay to be unsure of how you feel. Sometimes these moments can feel consuming and cause you to pause. What matters is how you let that information guide your actions.

There is a peace existing amongst the chaos and accepting it for what it is. You never had control, so quit feeling shame or guilt for things you cannot change. Choose to focus on positivity and gratitude despite it all. These moments give you clarity and space to level up in ways you could not imagine.

Moments like these make me feel like I have life figured out, but we all know that is not true. Take advantage of the highs and lows - use them to gain insight, build resilience and prepare for the next adventure. Life may not be what you expected and that is beautiful - be thankful for the opportunity to evolve.

Until next time

Em
